Keep Track of deleted attachments

Hi,
Im trying to writte a zimlet to extend the functionality of the "remove all attachments" functionality basically when i remove an attachment i want to add a text line on the body of the message with the filename of the deleted attachment.
so far it hink the best way to go is to read the message then add the lines to the boy and upload the message as a new message (keeping the date and the sender address) and later to delete the original message.

wouuld this be possible?
rigth now im not sure how to uload messages back to the server keeping the sender and date.
any suggestion ?
